    Very good

Friendly, informal yet comfortable with fine dining option.

It's a lovely old fashion pub with very comfortable rooms, excellent restaurant and easy walking distance from both the station and town centre.

very narrow stairs in the annex.

    Good

    The staff were very pleasant.

Didn't have a room in the old coach house - stayed in an extremely small room across the road. Despite a bath advertised there was only a shower which never got hotter than luke warm. The skirting by the door was off, the blind held together with a safety pin, which broke. There was a generator or something vibrating through the walls and floor all night. The guttering above the window leaked, plop, plop and the window wouldn't shut. The room hadn't been recently refurbished and didn't seem 'individually' designed! I slept so badly due to the constant whirring noise and was woken at 7am by creaking floorboards from the person in the room above. I mentioned the whirring noise to the staff, they thought there might be a fridge below me. I ended up checking out that day as there was no point having a second sleepless night, although I paid for two nights! I complained to Fullers who almost 4 weeks on haven't replied to me despite 2 subsequent chase emails. My emails have been forwarded to the area manager who after 3 weeks hasn't replied and his manager and the customer service manager, who after 1 week haven't replied.

    Superb

The hotel was attractive and extremely convenient for my purpose. The staff were very welcoming. It was good to have a restaurant on the spot as well.

The mattress cover was rather tatty and as the bottom sheet wasn't fitted, it slid around a bit. Also there was no hairdryer in the room but that is a very minor point.

Beautiful pub, very quaint; great bacon sandwiches, free water in mini bar.

    Very good

Excellent location, quaint furnishings, very good bathroom facilities, nice atmosphere.

Disappointing that tea & coffee in room had not been refreshed from previous resident.

Everything was perfect, nothing to be critical about at all.

The historic pub property, design and comfort of the room and bath, fantastic breakfasts and dinners.

Could use softer pillows as options (in wardrobe, perhaps); American-style washcloths/flannels (we know to bring our own); more soap bars and toilet paper in bath (we ran out of both). Possibly install a lift, if possible. All are minor, though.

    Very good

The location is brilliant for walking around Winchester town centre and the staff are friendly and pleasant. It is very appealing with a pretty garden. Quaint and old English I would describe it. I may try the hotel again but would definitely ask for a different room.

I had a single room across the road from the main Inn. It was snug but the bed wasn't very comfortable with a plastic sheet under the bed sheet - horrible. When I returned after midnight to my room there was the most terrible smell of drains/toilets in my room and outside in the hallway. Really horrible and very off putting. There was no hot water for my morning shower.

Lovely old building and the staff were excellent.

My bedroom was too small, it was a single in the annexe and had very narrow stairs to negotiate.

I was staying in a single room which was extremely quaint and very very comfortable. The staff were lovely and I had a tasty cottage pie for supper and great breakfast - local produce - before flying to France. Having not been to Winchester before I thought it delightful and rather than just accommodation for convenience to enable me to get an early flight it turned into an extra night of my holiday.

    Superb

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome. The Bar was busy (Sunday lunch) yet someone took the trouble to take us to our room and explain things. We had lunch and evening meal there and both were excellent, as was the breakfast next morning. Beautifully cooked and again staff an excellent mix of both friendly, funny and yet very efficient. We would definately recommend this place again.

Lack of parking although I don't what could be done about that in the middle of the city centre!

An excellent location close by the Cathedral and shops and in a quiet location. The Wickham Arms is a charming hotel and it has a delightful bar area, and oozes history. The meals were supurb and there was an excellent choice for breakfast. My room was very comfortable and had plenty of space (on my own though), with a large ensuite. The staff were very helpful and friendly. A bonus was the free wifi.

Not enough hanging space for my clothes. There was some exposed railing attached to the wall, while a small wardrobe would have sufficed. This was the only small problem with the room.
